Love for Love's sake alone

Sat with love
Who would not speak
A Tigerman
Fierce to the enemy
He thinks I am
Yet tender and gentle
To his cubs
Is what I see
Even though
Right now
He doesn’t see me
For in his garden
Red roses
Are a waste of time
The beloved symbol
Of the Divine
To the passion
I smell
He casts a bare glance
As I gather one close
With open palms
But offers me a cutting
As an olive branch
Yet still
I am grateful
For the welcome in
To just sit quietly
By him
Feeling love
Free to dance
Wild within
That’s enough
For now
No agenda
No stories
Just the mystery
And it’s calling card
A heart
Of starlight
Silver
