Vision of Beauty

The photo I have of you
In its aluminium frame
And white matting
Does not prevent the years
From passing
Or the cove from crumbling
Into the sea;
But as we walked
Through empty streets
Towards the first light of dawn
And the reel of Super 8
Passing between projector
And Silver Screen
Loses its grain; Shadows
Grow shorter
As Pyramids turn to dust
Blown in the sand;
But as we gazed
Across green woods
With hand interlaced in hand
