In Her Mother's house

I was in Her Mother's house
Sat in front of the T.V.
Watching a D.V.D.
Her Mother was in the kitchen
Hovering over the stove
Listening to a C.D.
And She was in the bathroom
Under the breath of the hairdryer
With brush in hand
Her Mother entered the living room
With plate and wok in opposite hands
Smiling at me
A breakfast of stir-fried vegetables
And a tall glass of milk
I switched off the T.V.
She came out of the bathroom
Going into her room
To put on a long patterned dress
Her Mother sat in the chair
Opposite Me on the couch
As She walked into the room
