Running Wild

Running wild, running free
Over land and around tree
A flash of silver, a gleam of cream
In the bushes,
By the stream.
What can it be?
What did I see?
Could it be?
A horn,
A golden hoof?
No, it can not be.
A myth, a dream,
Reality.
In my heart and mind,
I see what I wish to be
Running wild, running free.
Author's Notes: I wrote this poem many years ago when I was searching spiritually for a religion that made sense to me. I was dreaming about what I wanted in life and my daydream became this poem. It only took about a minute to write the whole thing down, and frankly I haven't been able to do it again.
Lightning never strikes twice.... well I'm working on it. No matter how many lightning rods I have to set up to get it.
