Dusk to Dawn

Age Group: Teen
Beams of life shine down,
Gentle wafts of ambrosia
Gifted by the heavens.
Leaves lift their faces to greet the Day,
Reflecting light,
No forgotten shadow.
Stars relieve the sun of its duty,
Playing hide and seek with his radiance.
Animals settle as Dusk approaches,
Furtively, secretly,
Creeping along,
Coaxing the world into a peaceful slumber.
Moon in full view,
Smiling, dreaming.
Comets dance,
Meteors flash,
Nature’s lullaby,
Owls punctuating the Night’s chorus.
Sun peeks over the horizon,
Shooing lazy twinklers along.
It’s time to boot up the day
As Dawn glances through the clouds
Sneaking past every now and again,
To kiss the face of the Earth.
Author's Notes: I love writing nature poems, they're always so soothing for me. Nature is a beautiful thing that too many of us disrespect and take for granted.
