The End of the World

Have you ever been in love? It hurts. You never know if your loved one is happy, if they are alright. Not knowing what they feel, think, or see. Well it hurts.
Seeing him for 7 hours may seem like a lot, but when your mind can’t be by itself, it seems like only minutes.
A young teenage mind is scary. When left alone with no sense of direction, for even a few hours could be deadly. I wasn’t sure which way to go. After a major downfall with school, bringing him home under unusual circumstances, and being suspended, my mind was a whirl.
Not seeing him for another 16 hours seemed like eternity. I was killing him mentally, as well as myself. I just kept thinking ‘run, run away’ but leaving him behind seemed worse. ‘Take him and disappear!’ “But where?” asked a logical, helpful mind. ‘Sharp objects are fun to misuse’ but how would he feel if I left so harshly?
The end of the world was visible to me. Then I thought ‘he loves me, and I love him. We would have fallen already, but we are still strong, if not stronger. I WILL live happily with him.
Author's Notes: I wrote this poem when I had a steady boyfriend, and it hurt too much to be apart.
