Stain

A motherless tongue,
it means nothing yet I am compelled to write the words,
swish, swishing my hand across the paper,
I smell wood chips and the sky is stained mandarine,
a sifting of light,
imitation blush smearded across this siren seduced night,
this tangerine dream is almost soothing,
artificial blush of sunset,
its trickery mocking me from my window,
and when it rains loneliness covers me like a blanket,
dutiful embrace,
a graceful rain seeps through the soil,
I wish I was a handful of earth,
rich, deep, moist from the center in,
plant in me, I grow.
