The Great Spirit Prayer

Age Group: Adult
Oh Great Spirit who’s voice calls to me on the wind,
And teaches me through all creation
Hear me,
Give me the wisdom to learn the lessons of the Wolf
Give me the strength of the Bear to face any trouble in my path
Help me seek pure thoughts and acts of kindness
Make me wise so that the lessons taught by my elders are not wasted
Teach me to respect the land and all the creatures of it
Remind me to give you thanks for what I use, and to
Seek forgiveness for what I hunt.
Make my spirit pure so it does not cast a shadow
Help me to give back to my people what you have freely given to me.
Let me walk in beauty, without shame
May I always live with pride and respect without being arrogant,
Until the day my spirit joins you.
