To my Mirage

I forsaw you coming to me, I saw the joy we'd bring each other
When you came, I couldn't have been happier
You were different from the others, you were special already
I would hold you and things got clearer.
You opened your eyes and saw me first, the bond grew
you would run wild and play around
listen to no one, got labelled a wild one
I simply called your name and to me you would bound.
Years passed and we were inseperable
you were my best friend
I told you my secrets and fears
the unspoken promise to hold them to the end
Times turned for the worse,
and mine I could no longer call you
I cried when I said good bye
to this day, I swear you cried too
a metal fence seperates us
but our hearts still grow strong and sure
One day when the time is right
I'll hug you and feel your soft fur
I promise you, my baby Mirage
You will be mine once more.
