To a Teacher

To a Teacher
I never wanted into your fortress dark
and forbidding black leather armour safe
from all except the constant pain within.
Small spaces crushing us we create
the other in our own image and welcome
each dropped pearl or flash of broad
illumination, greeting it with empathy,
you in me, I in you non-simultaneous
and only partially overlapping
non-duality, if you will, and love,
not for you alone yet not for everyone
But rather for that scattered and potential
Aum Ah Hum guerilla community
of practice unmanifest, the wiry carnivores
who work to realize their vision of the world
a kinder place but lick their scarlet wounds
in sweet surprise at the rich, gold-speckled warmth
of their own ancestral ocean salty blood.
determined that despite the inquisition
humanity will remain the spirit guide
of serpent spinal cord and lizard brain
for two whole screaming days and moaning nights
What more can anyone ask of self or other.
How many of us trapped here on the plane
of planetary separation hope to find
a wealth of gain? No we are held by fear
of lost security of body and lost memories
of victory. Let go the iron grip of will
Let go! Savour the silence, fear and lonely
dark. Join me in the void. Become yourself.
