Sensitive New Age Guy's Lovesong (2)
I would chase you up a ladder to the heavens
with your consent of course
and yet would never grab your ankle
until on the roof of the world
you would stop and face me
and I might accidentally
step on your toe
I would chase you down the tunnels of abysmus
with your consent of course
through subterranean caverns
lit only by the phosphorescence
of tiny creatures growing on the rock
and though I were breathing on your neck
I would not touch you until at the bottom of the universe
you might turn and embrace me
and I might accidentally
bump you nose
I would soar the reaches of space beside you
with your consent of course
my sister lover friend, behind you through the galaxies
and sometimes well ahead
rocking and rolling and diving and soaring
back to back and belly to belly
yet never touching you until at the center of everything
with my hands on your buttocks while your arms
clasped all our other lovers close around us
and in the deepest dark of space
you turned and we enfolded to be one
and in our dreams create a universe
or start the universe again
