A Game of Queens
In the hand that I’ve been dealt, a pair of queens,
But which one should I play?---
The Queen of Diamonds or the Queen of hearts?
On one queen bet a lifetime, the other turn
Face-down and throw away –
The Queen of Diamonds or the Queen of hearts?
Diamond Queen is calling me–
Golden is her voice,
The Queen of Hearts just whispers low
Make Love your choice,
Make Love your choice.
To choose between two fickle queens,
Two lives as different as the night and day,
The Queen of Diamonds ? ---
Author's Notes: This started as a song (and I still sing it in my mind) but drifted into being a poem, and it keeps changing. And changing. For years. This is stable version 2.3.7.
