A Pagan version of the poem by St. Francis

God & Goddess, make me an instrument of your peace.
Where there is hatred, let me bring love.
Where there is injury, let me bring healing.
Where there is doubt, let me bring the knowing of you.
Where there is darkness, let there be strength found in it.
Where there is light, let there be knowing and enlightenment.
Where there is sadness, please bring joy.
O Dearest Eternal Parents grant that I may not so much desire,
To Be consoled as more that to console.
To Be understood, as to more understand you.
To Be loved, but more to love you.
For it is that when we seek connection with you, that we are one with you.
For in forgiving, we are also forgiven.
And in our passing from this plane to the next, that we are united with you.
Author's Notes: This was written by me one afternoon after watching a PBS special with Wayne Dyer and his daughter Skye just sang the poem by St. Francis of Assissi.
I was completely in tears by the end of that and the urge to write this came.
I hope you feel as wonderful about it as I do/did when I finished writing it.
