My Journey

Age Group: Adult
Through the sands
of time I went
To find the love
you never sent
I struggled with
Climbing hills
while you were home
popping your pills
Confusion wrapped
around my mind
why was love
so hard to find?
My Journey's
half way done, you see
but still no love
has come to me
I think I've come
to this conclusion
maybe love is
just an illusion
I travelled back
through the sands
Only to find outstretched
arms and hands
there she stood
like the goddess above
in those eyes
I saw her love
she wrapped those
arms around my shoulders
I latched on and
she let me hold onto her
She said "I missed you"
with such relief
I just held her
In disbelief
My journey's end
has come so near
my journey's end
is home, to here
and there I stayed
with her, til dawn
I am truly glad
I waited this long
I have come to
another conclusion
that love is NOT
an illusion
