Poem - Mother's Child

Mother’s Child
Moon clad nights draw Faerie nigh
To listen to the nighttime whir
Of all the Lady’s creatures there
That dwell within the ebony dark
Dragons reflect an endless peace
Wrapped within their granite homes
Waiting for sweet Magick’s bloom
Because they are our Mother’s child
Wolf plays and hunts the ethereal paths
Between all the bitter worlds of man
Lost within the hunt’s sweet lure
Because he is his Mother’s child
Raven roams the midnight sky
Wrapped within the who and why
Seeking out each cherished thought
Because she is her Mother’s child
Eagle dares the winds of fate
Wrapped within the Weaver’s web
Seeking peace within the strands
Because he is his Mother’s child
Owl basks in love’s despair
Seeking solitude within
Tied within its midnight call
Because she is her Mother’s child
White Stag dwells within the forest’s heart
Wrapped within the vale’s bright soul
Seeking peace within … without
Because he is his Mother’s child
Warrior grips the rune-clad sword
Stands before forever’s night
Wards the flame that burns within
Because he is his Mother’s child
If all the Magick of a word
Can heal the world, cease the pain
Then speak the word in rhyme three times
Because we are our Mother’s child
Bring love and trust to the seekers here
Show our worth within our rites
Give of the love She gives to us
Because we are our Mother’s child
