Poem - A Word or Two

A WORD OR TWO
A love of mine talked to me
As we were walking by the sea
The moon was full and bright
And clouds were scudding to the wind
Just a word or two was said
Just words of bright and cheery bent
Somehow the meaning of those words were lost
Amongst the sea’s most furious froth
That power there displaced the theme
Interrupted long held wondrous dreams
Tore the fabric of space and time
And her hand was lost to mine
Such is Nature’s ways it seems
To find and loose Her rapturous scheme
A test of strength and pride of place
A test of faith and new search for peace
Can the warrior in me win?
Can I smile and laugh again?
With just a word or two
Maybe She can make me new?
