Poem - Sometimes

SOMETIMES
Sometimes I sit sometimes I walk
Sometimes I rest and sometimes not
Wrapped in silence, within … without
Upon this many-coloured path I trod
Sometimes I yearn to sing
But still the uncertain voice within
Sometimes I have the urge to laugh
But still the smile and frown instead
Sometimes I want to run and play
Wrapped up in the magick of the day
But I just turn and go inside
And shut my door and hide
Sometimes I want to sit and cry
And rid myself of pains I hide
But being me, one with silly pride,
I keep them bottled up inside
Sometimes I want to speak of love
And giggle like a foolish child
That not for me for I am old
I’d be very silly to be that bold
Well my friends have you done these things
Been foolish, happy, even tried to sing
Sometimes afraid to love like me
Hiding both your tears and fears
Live the day and seek the light
And all the joy and laughter there
Cherish life’s so precious gift
And sing your song for all to hear
Have the fun you seek and need
Weary not as the circles turn
For time is short and filled with grace
Live and love ... trust and learn
