Poem - Shadows

There are shadows within the shadows
As we are spun from off the wheel
Shadows within the shadows
Of countless stories to unfold
There are choices laid before us
Many paths for us to walk
Many words that are unspoken
Many dreams that are undreamt
There are shadows of our future
Of what should or might have been
Of loves found and then left a wanting
Of souls lost, retouched again
There are shadows of remembrance
Of great ones come and gone
There are shadows of our families
There are unwritten, loving poems
There are sunsets never captured
There are rainbows never seen
There are fears that are uncounted
There are mountains never climbed
There is the taste of salt sea waters
And the shadows playing there
Shadows of the strong and brave
Who dreamed and then who dared
Then within this moment
As I sit and muse my love
There is this love we share together
Our gift from Gods above
The shadows that I call my own
Within this space and time
Are shared with you in reverence
And blessed by your sweet love
