Threads
I have trod the lonesome byways
Of a world that’s turning old
Have basked in red tinged sunsets
Sparkling light of silvered moon
Have watched all nature’s creatures
The greatest to the small
Been absorbed by all the wonder
Through the Winter to the Fall
There is a place I travel though
The place that pulls me back
It’s the place that holds my memories
A spacious room within my mind
It offers quiet solitude
Amongst the memories of youth
When first I felt Their loving touch
At the moment of my birth
The colours that I see there
Connections made through Time
All the Reds the Whites the Blacks
Threads of lives entwined
These are all the memories
The grief, the loves and joys
The threads within the living soul
That makes me who I am
I walk within these memories
Follow the twists upon the paths
Find again the purity
Of the love and trust They gave
Each Thread within the Journey
Connected to my soul
Gifts from guiding spirits
As ageless time unfolds
To understand the meaning
Of these twists of fate
We each must make the Journey
Unlock our silver Gate
Then walk within the woven threads
Amongst these many lives
Live within their spirits
Then we will realize
That the past is spent, all debts are paid
Our souls will gently say
That the present felt for all its pain
Is filled with sparkling clarity
The present not the future
Nor memories of old
Is the arbiter of Love and trust
Is the calm within our souls
Our threads of Life are woven tight
There is warmth and comfort there
Brightest Blessings offered each
As on Her Wheel we turn
Simple words cannot express
The meaning that you give
To this Life that’s full of wonder
To this Life that’s fully lived
The Shield is dropped, the Sword is sheathed
My Armor placed aside
The Wards once placed are faded now
I have opened up my eyes
I hold out my hand in peace to you
And offer each my soul
Within Their Love and Trust
Born again within the Rose
Your path is yours to walk in love
The choice is yours to make
Can I walk this Path with you?
Under the silvered moon above
