Poem - Dragons's Flight

DRAGON'S FLIGHT
Sunset’s reddened hues announce the ending of the day
And shadows dance amid the gloom where darkling creatures play
The granite spires await the touch of moonlights magick beams
Where dragons wake and cast aside their daylight ethereal dreams
When magick swirls about and spirals upward in the night
Then dragons stretch their wings and flow majestically to flight
They cast about with senses attuned to magicks call
Searching ever searching for the brightest jewels of all
Over mountains, down the valleys and up the timbered slopes
On gleaming wings bathed by blessed moonlight’s glow
They seek the source of magick at the wellspring of its birth
And are guided by the music to your firelight’s soft glow
They twist within the web of the magick that they find
And add their power to the source to guard your circle round
Take pleasure in their coming be saddened when they leave
For just as you need the moonlight for your wondrous deeds
The dragons need your magick wrought on this earthly sphere
These jewels that you offer bound within both Her love and trust
To give meaning to existence and charge their souls with power
So they can come and bide again amid the magick midnight hours
