Poem - The Vale

THE VALE
I walk across the moonlight field
Down beside the spring fed stream
Step upon the moss covered rocks
Walk within the oak ringed vale
Thrice walk the circle roundabout
And bespeak the words of old
Welcome all the Spirits
And bring my Lady home
I sit before Her cauldron then
From which all magick flows
Look within the sacred flames
Gather offered knowledge close
I see your faces within the flames
On this Yule’s eve
And ask a loving blessing
As I speak aloud your names
Light a candle for you each
Within the sacred grove
And quietly sit and meditate
Throughout the magick hours
As morning softly breaks the day
And the Lord greets his new found land
I offer blessings for Lindsey’s child
To the new day’s rising sun
Offered to an easting breeze
The loving words of grace
Gifts of life and gentle love
As she gently awakes
I close the circle roundabout
Thanking those who ventured near
Lone but not alone
On a Winter Solstice day
For Savannah, Nightwing’s Granddaughter. SMIB
