A mist enshrouded Lake between the now and what was then
Calls me forth to venture near and become a man again
Her healing touch within this heart will stay my dread and fears
And make me whole to once again to face the fate of years
The stories and the whispers heard on an evening breeze
Are really not the truth you seek when down on bended knee
The waters are not sacred for just a chosen few
The waters are for everyone who is lost, afraid, alone
No blood may flow from open wound, be just a tear or two
Sorrow wounds just as deep as sword or lances do
No priest can say what is the cure or which bracken dulls this pain
Only love can be the cure of this undying bane
So I sit beside the Lake and await Her healing touch
To feel Her love in wonder and to become again refreshed
So I can venture forth with no dark within my soul
And live and dwell in friendship as Nature’s plan unfolds
To live and strive within my heart for peace upon a world
That matches all within the coil of life’s sweet, golden spiral
