Poem - Lost

Lost
Dreams flow slowly as a river
Down the channels of my mind
Thoughts of other places
Of treasured faces lost in time
Special people now departed
Some were old and some are new
Gone as swift as summer breezes
Softly as the winters snow
Wild winds rage within my being
As each one leaves not to return
Fear and longing, pain and sorrow
Crystal tears, heart turned to stone
I’ve loved to much and cared to much
Spent my life wrapped up in hope
Now to old to change the pattern
Brick by brick I build my walls
But for the Lord and Lady
And their love and trust in me
Would be the time to end this Journey
Time to join Eternity
