Poem - Yearnings

Yearnings
I yearn for the beauty of a world that knows no pain
And to feel its sunlight and warm spring rains
I yearn for rainbows and the bright northern lights
And a warm spring breeze as it whispers through the night
I yearn to sit with family, friends and hear children’s laughter as they play
And to hold my daughter’s hand once more and walk the paths of youth again
I yearn for a balance of my years, love and peace without the tears
Soft rainbows after gentle rain, my lover's kiss and warm, gentle hands
I yearn to dance within the moonlight’s glow with my coven once again
Feel moonlight’s strength beneath the sky and never have to wonder why
I yearn not for the riches of man, the hate and fear that surround us now
But just for a treasured island of peace not touched by loveless hands
I am sure they are there, can be found within this soul of mine
If I but look within my heart and open up sweet memories doors
Then challenge the darkling deeds that abound within the shadow’s restless void
Turn magick’s light upon their source and become whole once again
