MEMORY IN A DREAM
You’re just a memory in a dream
A wisp of smoke on evening breeze
You are the past, spirit on the wind,
You’re just a memory in a dream
You’re just a memory in my mind
A tear that falls slowly down my cheek
A thought that passes slowly through my day
You’re just a memory in my mind
You’re a love I found then lost
A touch, a warm embrace
A thoughtful word or two

You’re the pain that I must bear
Down through the lonely years
An empty spot within an aching heart
