Poem - When I Was Young

When I Was Young
When I was young, so very young
I met the Lady down by a brook
We sat amid the midnight stars
Spoke of my wishes, hopes and dreams
When I was young, so very young
I chased the wasting sun
Frolicked with the wild snow geese
Loved and lost and won
Those wishes, hopes and dreams I had
Became this life that I have lived
For all my sun and star filled days
Have been blessed with love and peace
My Journey led me to my love
Gave me children strong and true
Enriched my soul with love and trust
Kept my Journey bright and new
As I have aged and slowed my steps
And ceased my wandering ways
I still feel the call of wild snow geese
That haunts the evening breeze
The day will come down by that brook
When She will call my name
Then I will tarry there with Her
Be young and strong again
