My Forever Song
I stood upon the rockbound shore
My arms spread to the breeze
Questing for forever’s song
To bring sweet peace to me
I searched among the midnight stars
Deep within the Milky Way
Rode an errant comet
Tried to catch a shooting star
I searched among mountain valleys
Still green with springtime’s kiss
Looked deep within still, blue lakes
Listened to the soulful wind
I spoke to wise men of many lands
Sought sparkling truth from woman’s lips
Felt the warmth of a lover’s touch
Held a gentle child’s hand
Life's song lives deep within my soul
A lasting part of me
That is filled with peace and love
If I but stop and see
