Poem - Silence

Silence
Silence reigns deep within the soul
Blessed with love by forevers' light
A jewel found within each heart
That seeks peace within the ebony void
No creature rustles to its touch
No gentle words lift its silent reign
No loving hand to calm its fear
As it dwells within mind’s darkened rooms
The Silence is but a bygone tear
Or maybe just a winsome laugh
Or a gentle breeze through stately elm
Or the chatter of a rock filled brook
A loving touch of our children’s hands
A lover’s kiss within the dark
A thoughtful walk down dusty road
Life’s journey done hand in hand
Do not dread the silence of your soul
For like the rainbow after rain
It’s worth the gold of every King
For it’s your future yet untold
