Poem - Illusion

Illusion
Shadows wavering in the moonlight
As illusion spins its darkling web
Mayhap just to trap the stranger
That walks the spiral path in dread
Or is illusion just Her test of faith
As we wander in and out
Searching for that quiet place
To cast away our fear and doubts
When holding hands in circle
When calling out Her name
Is the warmth that then surrounds us
A hoax and just a sham
When we stand and call the quarters
And feel the ancients drawing near
Is it just our wishful thinking?
When we feel Her presence there
In truth Her love surrounds us
In the closing of the day
Under Her bright moonlight
All illusion fades away
