A Pagan's Wish

A Pagan's Wish
When I look in the mirror,
Do I like what I see?
A bit of Divine maybe looking at me?
Are the Lord and the Lady
Shining through from my heart,
Sharing blessings and joy as I'm doing my part?
Is there goodness and wisdom
Lighting these eyes of green?
Do they look to help others with troubles unseen?
Can I look at this person
And be sure as I walk,
That I'm living the life, not just talking the talk?
Am I grateful each day
For what Spirit provides?
Do I give what I get from the spirit inside?
Do I honour the Earth
For the life She sustains?
Do I take her for granted, ignoring her pain?
Will the things of today,
That seem such a big deal,
Really matter tomorrow for my spirit will heal.
When the Summerland calls
And my soul takes it's leave,
Will my life as I lived it, help others believe?
My wish is each day,
In my mirror I will see,
A true, loving pagan looking back towards me!

Author's Notes: Every now and again I get so caught up in the daily rat race that I sometimes forget who I am and what I truly want out of this particular life. This poem helps ground and center me and put me back on an even keel again.
