Three Phases

Age Group: Adult
Maiden Mother Crone
Young Maiden plays, laughs, dreams, romances
Everything new, everyting bright
Mother, watches, protects, lives the dreams, finds the romance
Full of life, full of love
Crone, watches, thinks, comtemplates, knows
So much done, still more to do
Three major phases in a womans life
Maiden Mother Crone
What happens when you skip one phase I wonder
I’ll find out sometime
I have no children
There’ll be no mother phase for me
But... do you need to have children to be a mother?
Or only the instinct a mother has
Can I be a mother
Just by
Kissing better a childs scrapped knee
reading someone a story
being there for people
watching over a child as they grow up
are those the things
that makes a mother a mother
Or, do you have to conceive
carry a life inside you for nine months
give birth
to a beautiful baby girl or baby boy
Only time will tell
I think I’ll find out the answer
By the time I reach Crone
Until then, I just hope
that what makes a Mother
is just plain and simple
Love.
