Forces

~Forces~
Whispy, white cottonball clouds
shift, and take shape
in a sea of azure sky.
Like giant hands tearing
the cottonballs apart,
I wonder silently...Do clouds cry?
They blacken with rage
at the way they're tossed about~
at will, by some unseen force.
No choice, but to drift
in endless space, ...they follow the wind,
and stay the course.
Raindrops; like tears, begin to fall
as the Earth emits
a burdened sigh.
The weight of the world
is heavy upon Her shoulders...
Thunder rolls~across the blackening sky.
Like the snap of a whip
~lightning strikes~
at the dry, parched land.
There is no place for "her" to hide
from the deepest, darkest wood...
to the hot desert sand.
To her children, She is the only Mother
We've ever known.
Flesh of Her flesh, ...blood of Her blood.
Her Creator Father took from her loins
and breathed in Us life~
from the dust where he stood.
We're told to "Worship thy Father",
yet...we deny Mother Earth;
the one who cradles us close to her breast.
Just a thought to the thoughtless children
who inhabit her shores...
Earth is a home in which we are the guest.
If we should wear out our welcome,
with our waste and our haste,
and continue our reckless, abandoning ways...
In 10, 000 years naught shall remain,
but the dust where we rose, ....
and the ash we became!
