Settleing

I stare out
of the liquid glass
at an overgrown garden
Chaotic,
but luxuriant and full
after this summer's
endless rains
the unkempt dogwoods
form form an orb
with their feathery red stems
in which I imagine myself
I quietly, isometrically
ground and extend
with my eyes
neither closed nor open
I can feel the wooden table
beneath my hands
its surface
the very same temperature
as my skin
my heart slows, ending its daily race
and without anticipating anything
it settles
into its natural rythym
