Forgotten Stalagmite

Timeless it ages.
Consigned to oblivion from whence it was concieved.
It gazes upon the transversal anatomy of land.
Forsaken... It watches in endlessness...
Accursed to transcend the world without consequence.
Out of twisted benevolence-- You abdicate your guise.
To abandon it.. Thus it crumbles with decay....
And disappears as it falls.
The stalagmite falls.... Soaring below the precipice.
As it descries the entity of why...
Forgotten... The stalagmite falls...
And gradually comes to die.
Author's Notes: This poem is copyrighted and published along with my other works. I wouldn't advise stealing it.
But other than that, this poem has many symbolic qualities. Stalagmite is representative of Cities or Towers that mankind has made. The words "You" and "Your" symbolize Humanity.
The poem is about the things we make, and then abandon.
The visual is a large piece of crystal atop of a high cave on a cliff, overlooking the fields. And as the stalagmite grows, it becomes more wary and tired, until everyhting it sees is no longer crystal or beautiful, it is dull. And so, when it finally realizes it is forgotten, after eternity... It allows itself to fall off of the edge of the cliff and cease to exist.
It's not really that depressing, it's just a piece I made to fit an emotion I couldn't explain.
