I Am Forged
by Kissing Wind Mabigonia Thriceborn
Age Group: Adult
When I was forged, bright anew
Like Satos' sword of gleaming steel
I set upon the path of life
To learn, to listen and to feel.
O', I have climbed to tower's top -
Beheld the world, swam in the sea
I've known the seasons in their spin
And heard the voices of the trees.
And I have been upon the hill
Where twilight calls and fire burns
And I have heard the storm crow's song
As sky has twisted and oceans churned.
In winter times I will dwell
Within the cottage, by the sea
Where the song of seasons wail their dirge
For spring again will come to me.
In Springlight's dawning I will emerge
To break the ground and scatter seed -
To give my thanks for all I have
And offer wisdom to those in need.
In Summer's sun will I learn
Of earth, and sky and midnight hour;
Seek the reaches and caverns deep
And discover through all, the High Ones' Power.
By Autumn's reaping shall I return
To harvest seed, now fully grown
To meditate on what I'm learning
And to gather all that I have sown.
Yes, I have been upon the hill
Along the path my life has wrought
And like a steel blade I have learned
That I can guard, or I can cut.
By wisdom's graces have I danced
By courage silence have I learned
By dead of night and twilight bright -
By sacred fires that have burned.
