Witch Dance

I have been sitting listlessly for two hours now.
When is this going to finish?
I gaze out the window, at the darkening sky
And sigh.
I want to be outside tonight.
To be apart of the rain and the fog
That breathes life
Back into the bones
Of those with the sea in their souls.
Tonight, when the only light
That shines; is cracking across the sky
I listen to the song they sing
Settling outside my sight
Those ghost and creatures of the night.
They hide in shadow
Calling me to their revelry.
The sinful, haunting dance
Pounded out by cloven feet,
Leaping through the pillared concrete,
Calling, calling out to me!
Two hours I have waited,
Bored and stiff
And trapped inside.
The very breath bleeds out of me,
Dripping, soundlessly.
When I could be dancing,
Out there, outside
In the pale moon tides.
