I look at the clock,
listen to the radio,
turn my head back
and stare at the stars.
I wish you were here,
just to lay by my side,
instead I count the petals
on the rose I recieved.
I've been debating
the best way to keep
the one flower I have
it's fragrant and sweet.
I roll to my side
to stare at my rose,
it's petals so dark,
the smell oh so close.
I reach out to touch it,
but I know I can't
it is to fragile,
as the sweet smell evaporates
and the petals are faded.
