Age Group: Adult
How the world hungers
With wonder rising high
Many a dream is born
Out of a silken imagining
Slinking like a wisp of fog
Like incense filling the air
Seeking a soaring,
A rising, a dare
She looked on him,
And he at her
When the divine lovers
Kissed in entwinded embrace
His voice sank to ocean depths
She burned in his gaze
Like the morning star
And with Her shinning eyes
She called to Him
From enveloping quiet
Sprang forth a kiss
Wrapping them together
Like a flame blazing,
Enclosed in each other
They hung lost together;
And The world was changed,
No more to be the same
Their Earth and sky reborn
And our home the earth renewed
In the silence
Held by the mounting moon
Their infinite love throbbed
Straining understandings bounds
For their great kiss,
Fills my throat
Catching away my voice
As some beckoning void,
Till I am filled completely
Trembling in silence,
Am Pressed down
And still born aloft
By the sheer sweet weight
Of such a love
Held for those chosen few
Their people
Such as you and I
