On Your Wedding Day

Look at him
that's won your love,
that's oh so sweet and true.
Show me a man
who could resist
falling in love with you.
You with your smile so brilliant and bright,
that shines like the sun
with all it's might.
Your eyes as they sparkle, like diamonds and jewles,
like the waves of the ocean
as they dance round the room.
I hope that you both share years filled with bliss
that all seem to come
from one single kiss.
May you thank your lucky stars
for what they've given you
and I hope that you are happy
from now and for years to come.
For days and maybe years
you're wedding song I'll hum.
Author's Notes: The last little bit of this poem was something to my mother and her new husband from me and it went as follows.
I love you both, with all my heart
and I want you both too see,
how much you mean to one another,
and how much you mean to me.
I wrote this poem before I was told that the two of them were getting married in Halifax, next to the sea. And I found it amazing that I compaired my mother's eyes to the ocean in the poem. The difference between the two is small and I like to think it may be more than a coincidence. Feedback would be nice, Blessed be.
