Seeds of Friendship

There’s so much less hurt
When we find ourselves hollow
And though we feel less alert
We’ve no more reason to wallow
But I’m kinda missing the pain
Now that we know we’ll survive
And I no longer fall with the rain
Now that I'm almost fully alive
We’re still looking for miracles
In all the wrong places
And I’m just traveling in circles
‘still chasing beautiful faces
We’re still hunting for Love
From these places we hide
‘Searching below and above
Instead of looking inside
I’m still missing the rush
Of wild lustful living
But I’m yielding to the hush
Of a Peace that’s forgiving
How do we know
When we’ve reached journey’s end?
And where will I sow
- these precious seeds -
of friendship you send?
You see the soil here is barren
Upon the hills where I ride
I’m a solitary horseman
So I must sow them inside
Among cracks they’ll take root soon
Inside my Heart of shattered stone
There they’ll grow to the Light of moon
And we’ll never again feel so alone.
