Are you Dead To Me?

Have I lost you
because of what I said?
Have I killed you
like I thought I would?
How can you sit there
and act like your fine?
I miss the old you,
that was so full of life.
You're smart,
you can sing,
you can write,
why are you blind too it?
No religion may need you,
but I am not a religion.
A shadow I may be
but see me and understand.
You are not worthless,
you never were
no matter what they said
you could turn your back.
But I guess the words,
got to you more than I thought they had.
But this is not a weakness.
To be tender to opinion is not a flaw.
But these are just words,
I would give you actions but
I do not see you accepting them
from me.
Just as these are words,
so are the things they say.
Words created to hurt,
but you must not let them.
Please understand I'm still here,
and my words will not hurt,
but you do not hear me...
are you dead to me?
