Cherish Every Step
by Cernunnos Poetry

Take a walk in the Dark
but walk toward the Light
and cherish every step
that seems wrong or feels right
Cherish one step at a time
Each step: one away from the past
Cherish each and every step
As if it were your last
For we could wake up tomorrow
‘find our legs just aren’t there
and we’d then drown in our sorrow
if - for This - we did not Prepare
But because we do really Live
savouring each step in its fullest
striding to whatever love we can Give
we’ll be content when its time to Rest
Take nine steps in the Night
though it may leave you aghast
but walk toward the Light
for each step may be your last.
