That Night

Age Group: Adult
Her eyes like Amber,
her lips like blood.
Her cheek like
a pale pink rose.
His eyes like Emerald,
his hair like gold,
his attitude strong,
proud and bold.
Her glance could
take your breath away.
Her smell could
render you powerless.
His hands could
kill you,
he was always loyal
always true.
He admired her,
her walk, her voice.
She watched him watching
but no one knew.
They would meet,
at night, in secret,
their passion the promise
they would keep it.
They were in love,
how no one could see.
No one, they thought,
no one but she.
In the shadows,
the backgroud of life.
Her unseen beauty,
her unwanted love.
It wasn't him she wanted,
but the Goddess that he had.
She knew that it was wrong,
she knew that it was bad.
She couldn't tell herself
who to love and who to not.
Yet somehow no matter who she loved,
they never loved her back.
She watched the woman,
she watched the man,
they danced, they ate,
and then they ran.
They ran to the place
that they thought no one knew of.
The Fair one followed
she discovered the haven.
She didn't want to,
but she watched the lovers together.
Heard them pledge
their love forever.
She screamed and cried,
they jumped to hide.
They couldn't risk
being exposed.
They didn't plan it,
neither did she.
She didn't want to hear,
she didn't want to see.
That night would be her last,
if only she hadn't cried.
That night would be her last,
that was the night she died.
Author's Notes: I have no idea what it means... All I know is that it came to me. I think it's devotional because the two lovers wanted to be together enough that they would kill someone. Maybe I'm just odd but that is pretty devoted if you ask me. Please let me know what you think.
