A Child's Story

Age Group: Adult
She’s cowering in the corner,
you know you sent her there.
She’s crying out for you to stop,
the pain is more than she can bear.
She is almost broken now,
all her bruises start to show.
She almost told a friend of her’s,
if only one person were to know.
She’s debating leaving life behind,
has even thought of leaving home.
She’s almost tried a dozen times,
but doesn’t want to be alone.
She cries herself to sleep at night,
wishing the scars would mend.
She knows that you can hear her cry,
as she hopes your anger finds an end.
She feels like she's floating now,
and everything is left behind.
She can see you leaving,
as she goes to cross the line.
She doesn’t feel the pain,
the scars and such are gone.
She wonders if your coming,
and if you will take long.
She’s wondering what happened,
as she walks on and on.
She feels like someone loves her,
even though your gone.
She knows that this is home for her,
and that she’s never leaving here.
She walks on with the Lady,
without pain, or scars, or fear.
Author's Notes: I got inspiration from a song that I was listening to at the time. Hope you like it.
