Your Love, My Drug

I wish that I could live without
the drug that you supply.
I wish that just for this one time
I had an alibi.
I wish I could get past the pain
of loving you like this.
I wish I could handle that
all my pain leads to bliss.
I wish that I could quit you,
just as you quit me.
I wish I knew that I could live
past rehab number three.
I wish your love was not a drug
and that I had my life.
I wish I didn't feel that I'm
walking the thing blade of a knife.
But now the tides are changing
and I know you love me too.
Now I can live from day to day
without crying over you.
Author's Notes: The ending sounds cold.. But in reality, the crying stops because he loves her too and there's no reason to cry. She doesn't move on, she knows that she's loved and is happy for it.
