You Know Me

You know me… I am Trouble
A millstone to the coward
The faint hearted , laughing I crush
Yet as day grows to night
I train the stalwart with such a rush
And force them to a harder fight
You know me … I am Fear
The shadow that steals away dreams
If you cower, I take will all your light
Those who turn their face to me
Shall learn of strength , of might
And they will learn how to be
You know me … I am Sorrow
I will take your life and your joy
None escape for I come to all
Weep and fall broken, dismayed
Or know in every life I come to call
So take me in, quiet and unafraid
You know me … I am Defeat
I am the last straw, the final blow
I leave dust, ashes and so much pain
But learn the lesson’s that I do teach
And rise Phoenix, into the fray again
For victory is within your reach
