I think we have always known each other
We two olde people of the deer
Perhaps we share one ancient grandmother
Its her mystic whisper we both hear
I think you have always known Her song
You have been singing it to your herd
I’ve heard your sweet music for so very long
Through the wind my spirit knows each word
We have always known these dark green woods
Wherein I've seen you running with the deer
Her ancient wisdom now more understood
In your song Her knowledge is growing near
You have always known my great grandfather
You feel His unwavering Love in my olde rhyme
He, gentle consort of your great grandmother
Joined hand-in-hand with Her for all of time
They dance us with them through the seasons
They are One with us now rejoining at Beltane
Her dark Love over-powering all His reasons
His warm Light over-coming Her dark pain
I have always heard your sad and joyful song
Carried softly to our herds in the summer wind
Beyond olde dark forests where we all belong
From some ancient tyme before we sinned
