Shooting Star

I saw a shooting star last night
and thought of angels high.
I felt their hearts were breaking
and they took the time to cry.
Oh the angels, pure and free,
watching over all of us.
All their light and goodness,
smiling at you and me.
I saw a shooting star last night
and thought of spirits near.
Staying with the ones they love
and not being happy here.
I almost want to look around
and begin to understand.
All the reasons that they stay
all the reasons that their bound.
I saw a shooting star last night
and stared in wonder and in awe.
I wondered what would make it fall
and basked in the beauty of it all.
Author's Notes: It's a lot like "A Single Drop of Water"... and I didn't know what category I should put it in... So I just chose this one because it seemed to fit... Feedback is more than welcome.
