A Hundred Shades of Grey (Colours)
April 17, 2006
) O (
Let us not tell the children That the sea and sky are always blue Let us just invite them to look often So they will see that its not really true
Let us not tell the children That winter's snow is always white Let's just insight them to look often So they will see it is seldom right
Do not tell them that grass is always green But teach them about the turning seasons Do not limit their vision to what he has seen Let's not limit them to his narrow reason
Let them behold all Her watery places Through their own young two open eyes So they might see His many-coloured faces Reflected in Her rainbow-coloured skies
For in cold winter as the tired Sun goes down When the evening sky is cast orange and mauve Grey-brown grass is adorned with a purple crown Snow sparkles in the blue-orange-red from above
In frosty Spring mornings' cold golden mists The Sun-rise casts grasses in golden halos Let children see their world not as mere tourists Let them see black trees in purples & yellows
Let them see the colours of stormy weather Prepare them for a hundred shades of gray So they will be sure to keep it all together When their own lives get rough some day
But now teach them of the sharp snow at night Let them see that the snow is sometimes blue Show them a black sky against silver moonlight Let them see six billion diamonds shining true
For they must learn to see their own world Through their own young two eyes open wide Of a Goddess's Love - the light and dark unfurled Of the multi-coloured Love of a God by Her side
