What I dislike about this priest of yours
is what I do not really like inside of me
How our ebb and flow erodes your shores
since we were both cast into Her sea
He, like me, became obsessed with You
We are both at the mercy of Her powers
You, like her, have become vast and blue
Since we broke but gave up not our vows
What I don’t like in your man of the cloth
is his failure to mesh his words to his action
He knows higher Love, but he’s become sloth
You, like Her, suffer now His dissatisfaction
He, like me, must make some bold decision
Either way, we must now set you both free
Chose to seize Love’s most beautiful vision
or deny it, turn our backs, and just let You be
What I don’t like in your servant of God
I don’t like in myself, though I'm godless
He won’t give up His faith to kneel on Her sod
And I won’t give up godlessness for my Goddess
But what I do like about this priest of yours
is that he’s seen enough to know what’s right
He doubts now his church’s one god , its morals
Through your femininity he’s found greater Light
What delights me about your man of the cross
Is what he sees through his church-wall cracks
Your Light shining beyond leaves him at a loss
Our Love promises the holy balance His lacks
But what I don’t like in this catholic clergy man
Is what we witness in too many of his brothers
This jealous authority held too high over woman
The patriarchal abuse of His power over others
But what I rather do like about you and me
Is our Beliefs and Hearts are one-in-the-same
Though hurt we have been by their hypocrisy
We are the stronger ones - we are not to blame!
